Let’s talk crumpets. But not just any ol’ crumpets, ones that are gloriously lathered in peanut butter and honey – welcome to Holy Crumpets.
Opening early 2019 in Melbourne’s CBD, these crumpet specialists are making quite a name for themselves as a tiny cafe that delivers tremendous flavours. The menu is easy – a crumpet with your choice of toppings – honey, spreads and PB (in addition to more unique options like passionfruit curd and ricotta). Oh and of course coffee and tea.
With no less than five honey options and two different PB’s, I opted for the regular PB with macadamia honey.
One bite and I was GONE. Perfectly portioned, the crumpet was gorgeously luscious, accumulating wonderfully with the PB and the milder macadamia honey. Without question, one of my favourite dishes of 2019.
Teamed with fast, friendly service, Holy Crumpets is a must if you’re in the area.
